Andrew Freeman has been performing in every corner of the United States since 1976. He has worked extensively as a solo acoustic artist, and been in untold bluegrass, blues, folk, country, and rock bands.

In January of 2002, Andrew ended a 6 year run at The Blue Lamp, in downtown San Francisco, where he performed at and hosted the hugely popular Monday Night Acoustic Open Mike, and performed on Tuesday’s both with his electric band and with a series of acoustic Blues/Folk duo’s. Many of these Tuesday night sessions were recorded, and a live acoustic CD, Take Cover’, was released in 2001, featuring Andrew and members of The Waybacks, Kenni, and others.

Upon ending the Blue Lamp run, Andrew went to New Orleans to write with internationally acclaimed pianist Henry Butler. One of these songs, ‘Tie Me Down’, was included on Henry’s CD ‘The Game Has Just Begun’, released by Basin Street Records in May of 2002. “Tie Me Down” has received critical praise, and was named one of the highlights of the CD by Jazz Times Magazine. Another song they wrote, 'Back To Me', is covered on Down, Not Out's debut CD.

It was a sentimental return to New Orleans for Andrew, as he had recorded his first solo CD, ‘Seems Like A Long Time’ there in 1995. Three tracks from “Seems Like A Long Time’ were included alongside such artists as Eddie Bo, Marva Wright, Cyril Neville, and Rockin' Dopsie Jr. on 3 separate anthology CD’s co-released in 2000 by the legendary New Orleans club Tipitina’s, and Cyril Neville’s’ Endangered Species Records.

Andrew has worked extensively with Contemporary Folk artist Kenni. He's prominently featured on her critically acclaimed debut CD, 'Kenni', and on several songs that she contributed to the sound track to the major film release ‘Out Of Season’. He also appears on the 2001 debut CD, 'Mortal Child', by New York-based Natalia Zukerman, daughter of violin legend Pinchas Zukerman.

Since arriving in San Francisco in 1996, Andrew has appeared at the Paradise Lounge, the Hotel Utah, the Last Day Saloon, the Blue Lamp, the Cafe DuNord, the Sweetwater Saloon, Rancho Nicassio, the Starry Plough, the Beach Chalet, and many other major venues up and down the West Coast. Andrew currently performs every Monday at the world famous Plush Room. He also plays monthly at Murphy's Irish Pub in Sonoma, at Giordano Bros. in North Beach, and at many other clubs in and around the Bay Area.
